Typical Agenda Outline for meetings

Each role is carried out by various members who learn all aspects of
how meets should be run - as a member, you would volunteer for
a different role each week as your personal schedule permits

Details of the roles will be available in a book format which is
presented to each new member joining our association
along with many other valuable tools and information

Call to Order (Sergeant-at-Arms)

Gets the room set up and the meeting started on time

Welcome by Chairman:  Opening Remarks & Introduction of Guests

 

Chairman runs the meeting and keeps it on time

 

The Chairman's Introduction of  Meeting Officers

 

 
 

      Timekeeper:

  Times the vaious activites and reports if they are within the allotted time frame
 

      Grammarian / Ah Counter:

  This meeting officer helps to track how all members speak during the meeting to show how and where we need improvement

 

      Videographer:

 

You may desire to videotape your prepared speech for your own evaluation at home

 

      Quizmaster:  

 

Near the end of the meeting, this role person will ask questions on various issues or speeches mentioned during the evening to enhance our listening / memory skills

 

      General Evaluator:  

 

The GE will give his/her impression on how the meeting was run generall, plus ask for reports from the individual speaker's evaluartors.

 

      Table Topics Master:

 

This meeting officer introduces the impromtu speaking session of the meeting

 

      Toastmaster:

  Responsible for the introduction of the prepared speaches session

A word of the day is encouraged to be included in each table topic presentation and members will tap the tables each time you use the wordto show that we are listening

  Business Session 10 To learn Parliamentary Proceedures and Robert's Rule - many time we use a ficticious motion and learn how to amend and vote on it

Speeches

  Prepared speeches are what members strive to master... each speech gudeline is from a manual that will help you acheive the first level of CTM and how to advance from there. Many members have gone on to be a Motivational Speaker as a profession

Each prepared speech will be evaluated according to the goals set out in your manuals and evaluations are given accordingly on what you did well, and where you need to improve

Not all awards are given out each week - the trophies are a symbol of your win but must be returned at the end of the meeting... however, ribbons are also given for you to keep... members and guests are eligable for these
